Ilyas K. Colombowala is a board-certified cardiac electrophysiologist at Houston Heart Rhythm and a Clinical Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine. He trained at Dartmouth, earned his MD at Baylor College of Medicine, and completed internal medicine, cardiovascular, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology training, serving as Chief EP Fellow at the Texas Heart Institute.
He founded the first cardiac arrhythmia program in Northwest Montana and went on to serve as Chairman of Cardiology and Co-Director of Cardiac Arrhythmia Services at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise before returning to Houston.
His practice spans the full range of electrophysiology, complex catheter ablation (AF, atrial flutter, SVT, and VT), pacemaker, defibrillator, CRT, and leadless device implantation, lead extraction, and left atrial appendage closure, with an active interest in AI-enabled cardiac monitoring.
